Figuring out my online presence & brainstorming for my presentation

While reading through this weeks articles and chapters I was actively trying to take away tips and tricks that I could use for my project. I'm planning on creating a social media site for our non-profit. These readings gave me several great tips on where to start, my main take aways being:

  1. Define your objectives and key messages for every post. Are you sharing tips, insights, or updates? Decide on the format—will it be a blog post, an infographic, or a quick tweet? Outline what you’re sharing and set a schedule for posting so your audience knows when to expect new content.

  1. Always ask “why” before hitting publish. Is your post relevant and helpful to your audience? For example, if you're sharing professional insights, make sure it ties back to your career goals and contributes value to your network. Thoughtful posts showcase your unique perspectives, allowing followers to connect with the real you.

  1. Consistency is also crucial. Stay true to your values with each post, maintaining a tone that aligns with your brand. Make sure you’re comfortable standing behind your words—even if someone disagrees. This builds trust and keeps your community engaged.

  1. Design content with your readers in mind. Use headings, visuals, and links to keep information accessible and reader-friendly. This will ensure your message reaches everyone, from social media browsers to your most engaged followers, fostering a space where ideas can flow and connections can grow.
